Hamilton Beach 43255R Black Ice Metal Collection 12-Cup Coffee Maker

Some assembly required
I just received this coffee maker today. I thought it was broken at first because when I ran the water to clean it, the water stayed in the reservoir in the back, instead of running through the shower head into the filter basket. After closely examining it I discovered that the part connecting the water reservoir to the shower head had not been put properly into place. There was nothing in the directions about this, so I'm guessing it is a manufacturing defect.

Luckily, the shower head easily unscrews and I was able to fix it myself. So far, that seems to have solved the problem, and water now goes where it is suppose to. However, I'm a little doubtful of the durability of the coffee maker if it was not assembled properly prior to shipping. I'd caution others about buying this model, or at least to have a Phillips head screw driver handy when it arrives.

Good coffee pot for the price. Great bold function.
Decent little coffee maker for the price. We got ours for about $25. I had read all the reviews and didn't want to pay the $100 to replace our cuisinart.

The coffee burner gets really hot, which I like. The bold function is excellent and really makes the coffee bold. This is awesome because I have found we can use a little less coffee than before. And we like mud for coffee. The regular function performs really fast if you are in a hurry. That's the good.

It's a little noisy compared to our our old brewer and it is definitely of a cheaper quality. The only thing I was really disappointed with is the super flimsy lid, it is on an ultra small hinge and the lid doesn't close all the way unless you really force it shut. Great for the price but I would probably go back to my Cuisinart.

Nice looking but !
The coffee maker fits in well with our decor,is priced right, and we hoped would serve us well. A few minor points such as
filling the maker when you have upper cabinets forcing you to move the coffee maker to the outer edge of your
countertop can be overlooked. The big issue for me is that the coffee is delivered at about 182 degrees to the
carafe, not hot enough for a great cup of joe. I now preheat water in microwave to get it to perform better. Disappointed.
I sure hope that the consumer mags start publishing delivered/brewing temps when they test,or allow you to dial in
higher temps. Using the "bold" setting helps, but does not really solve the problem.
