Don't try to save few bucks when replacing agitator
I'm not sure why whirlpool doesn't include this in there agitator replacement kit. The washer that comes with this screw will definitely need to be replaced when replacing the agitator, so why save about $5 and risk water leaking to the motor. Just make sure you have a 6-point 5-16 socket with a long handle (at least 10 or 12 inches long) so you can easily install this...
Good basic machine
I got the washer used, and it is not the machine's fault that the floor in the laundry area is rotted and causing issues. A good basic machine and repair help is amply available online, but often contradictory and confusing. Constant issues are annoying. Parts are cheap and this model is less complicated than most. This is an asset but makes diagnosing the cause of issues problematic: I can't replace the agitator dogs which everyone says are causing my problem, ( the screw above corrected the issue) because this machine, Whirlpool LBR4232dw0, doesn't have them!
Right product, right price
Upon changing the "dogs" on our washer we noticed that this screw was a little rusty. Quick and easy to change. Shipped fast. Cheaper than anywhere else.
